Just an old piece of mine, but I really like it and it still holds up as an illustrative piece on its own, even being drawn quite some time ago. I actually had a turtle to draw from that my brother caught in our backyard. No real inspiration for this, all I wanted to do was a sort of a still-life with a bit of flare, and I thought of boring fruit...and then we had this turtle...
Graphite on paper. *EDIT* 4-22-06: Wow, a DD on this guy? I never saw it coming. But that's a ton to Daily DeviationGiven 2006-04-22A little bit whimsical and a little bit quizzical, Orange Turtle by *blueRaptoR77 stuck out when I went mulling about the galleries on an April morning. I've always wondered how you artists who can draw that smoothly/detailed (like the wrinkles of the orange..) actually do it? Do I have to use a very compact pencil?
