All of you should, really. Especially you, yes you. Animator. Right now, as a matter of fact. If you can, of course, obtain the film that quickly. Which would be pretty super-human and impressive.
While I've always been pretty aware of the dark going ons that have gone on within the Disney corporation and their beloved (or not so beloved, at times) feature animation department, this was a particularly good reference for actual experiences with the demise of the studio in the late nineties till the big layoff in 2002. All those interviewed were employees in many branches of Disney animation when much of this happened, and are all great (erm, well, great from an educational point) to hear.
While the film itself leaves much to be desired in facts and time-line, and is far too short IMO, I got a lot of extra knowledge on this very real subject that all of us who enter into the workforce as artists need to see, especially in the extra features and clips on the Dream on Silly Dreamer DVD.
I think what absolutely broke my heart was the video clip of the ex-artists buying back their own animation desks from work at Disney. And removing the desks themselves with no apparent help from maintenance.
Though it's been about 4 years since this was made, and the assumption is that the creative side of the feature department is returning at Disney, I can't help but still feel like the corporation is still some negative black hole still churning away, a place where management will only keep pretending that animation is an art, is what built the company in the first place, and is appreciated by the exec's and shareholders.
Thoughts and comments are appreciated from anyone who's seen this film, etc. I'd really like to know what everyone thinks about all this.

I came to the midwest myself because I got a little tired of NYC and it's much quieter here (well, Chicago compared to NYC IS much quieter if looked at that way!), but I'll always love the east coast (being from Florida, and all the beaches there...aaahhh!).
CalArts would probably be great, especially if you think you can get a more meatier education than what you're getting now. BUT...you'd be surprised how much you can learn NOW in a really good school, and all that you will learn soon after working at a young age, instead of waiting for grad school. I've always been an advocate for getting out of your comfort zone and into the world at a younger age.
